You can watch a larger version of the trailer here.
A tiny taste of the feature film, The Greenhorns trailer features a small sampling of young farmers whose soil spans from California to Maine. It’s meant as a visual primer more than a depiction of the scope of the film. Please help us expand the diversity of farming methods, farmer backgrounds, and ag regions by nominating a local hero here.
This footage was shot by Taylor Gentry & Ian Cheney (King Corn) of Wicked Delicate Films and Basia Winograd. Force Theory scored the music and editor Laura Hanna of Hidden Driver gracefully spun thirty hours of footage into this 4 minute primer. If you like what you see, please add your name to the mailing list or consider donating to the project.

Hi Pam,
I’m a late-50′s woman who just started farming with her husband (he had previous experience with chickens and cattle. I’m a New York city-girl who now raises grass-fed beef in Northwestern Wisconsin. Please visit my blog and website, http://www.bronxtobarn.com, about my journey into sustainable farming. Site features interviews with experts in the field. Would love to hear from you.

People taking control of their food, more importantly, taking responsibility for their food and finding happiness…who would have thought that thousands of years of human history would lead us here…

Another young urban farmer here. I’ve been working hard on the prescott community in Arizona. So much comes with this terrain. Hard to navigate such terrain as bringing health back. Sometimes wonder if we should all join up in one town and see if we could change the whole damn town. Question is where?? Let me know if you are aware of the towns or cities most receptive and ready for this movement. Seems to me we are still very few in the grand scheme of society. Check out prescottfoodrevolution.org for an idea of prescott urban farming. We have self published 18 newsletters which you can find on the website. Of course the site is horribly neglected, but since winter’s here we should get it updated. Thanks for all the hard work you all do.

WHEN IS THIS FILM BEING RELEASED???
December 22, 2009 at 3:12 am
So, when is the Documentary going to be released? (There are 3 others asking this in the past 2 weeks BUT no answer from you. What’s the answer?)
I’m coordinating a Sustainable Food film festival in early April 2010 in Sonoma county, California and would like to include your documentary. Michael Pollen’s Botany of Desire is going to be shown at this film festival.
Your documentary on sustainable young farmers would be great to include in the festival.
