Urban Agriculture’s Origins and Opportunities in Oakland: An Interdisciplinary and Participatory Approach
Nathan McClintock, Assistant Professor of Urban Studies and Planning at Portland State University

Dr. McClintock discusses his research on urban agriculture in Oakland, California, focusing on how he integrated a critical social science approach with participatory environmental science and planning research to both understand the origins of the urban agriculture movement in Oakland and to identify obstacles to its ability to scale up.
