seed circus SUNDAY

Connect with your fuzzy side on Sunday, June 19th, at the Oakland Museum of California. The Greenhorns’ have organized a series of four events titled Seed Circus to celebrate young farmers and the spread of agrarian knowledge. This Sunday we kick off with “FELT”. Watch a sheep shearing, ride a bicycle-powered wool carder, help make a giant felt rug with artist Ashley Helvey and wrap up with a talk by Ariel Rivers about her family’s sheep ranch. Presentations will be followed by a screening of the acclaimed documentary Sweetgrass (2010), directed by Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Illisa Barbash, about the last major sheep drive across America’s Big Sky Country. Leave your winter coat at home.
