seed circus at the oakland museum

The Seed Circus is a series of four events, spanning late spring to fall 2010, that each explore an aspect of urban farming. The events have four themes—Sheep and Felt; Foraging; Pickling; and Fall Harvest—but they have a common ethos of sharing information and making and doing with one’s own hands. Seed Circus celebrates the tactile pleasure of the natural world, and the social pleasure of community. Artists, farmers-to-be, layfolk, locals, foodies, and children all welcome.

also check out I Felt in Oakland, sheep shearing and demonstrations tracing the path from sheep to wool sweaters and lip balm.

  1. Wow, that poster is fantastic! Is it available for purchase? The event sounds great, wish I was bay area!
