Dear greenhorns,

we need a boson- based collaborator for a special covert operation…

not actually covert. just special.

we’re needing art materials for our upcoming workshops– bike safety badge stations– that we’re setting up at monticello and at Farm Aid.

The materials we’re after include:
needles 200+
thimbles
velcro
glitter
glue
thread
mylar
ribbon
thick yarn
reflective materials
thick canvas
corduroy
velvet
whimsical fabrics with floral prints
sequins
wire pliers with needle nose
scissors
buttons
thick cardboard
pins
paint rollers

At the Children’s Museum in Boston there is a recycle place that sells a lot of useful craft materials, they are all post-production waste, and its a benefit for the museum.

MISSION: we need some fanciful folks to go to the children’s museum and fetch us some fantastic materials to use.  we are flexible, but on a tight budget.

if you accept this mission, please call us at the office 845 756 3124, so that we can arrange to send you a check made out to the museum for such purchases.

Recycle Shop
This retail environment has been fascinating visitors for more than a generation. Grab a bag and start stuffing – there’s no telling what you might find here. Long before recycling was a household word, the museum began selling an amazing variety of reusable fabrics, plastics, papers, and strings for everyone’s crafts and fine arts projects. The only limit is your own imagination!

If anybody you know is going to Providence anytime soon, you should send them to the Providence Recycling Center – http://www.rrie.org.
It has similar things to the Boston Children’s Museum store, but much more (a whole warehouse) and cheaper (30cents/lb).
    Good luck!
